Heh... for some reason the idea of Duke scuba diving with his sunglasses still on makes me giggle like a schoolgirl. As does trying to find the boat. ;)
Heh, i had to make some small concepts before deciding how he should look with scuba gear..! I thought this way he looked best, and still funny..! :)
Although, i'm a bit disapointed that most of the time you see the backside of his head, and the only time you REALLY get to see the face, i got the nose wrong..! :doh:

Unfortunately I don't tend to collect amusing pics. Stephen Cole is the resident picture provider around here, so I just leave it to him. Next time he passes something along of particularly good quality I'll be sure to toss it this way. :)

What kinds of pics does he have btw..?
If you use firefox here is a nice little plugin that gives you a button that randomly takes you to selected categories. Satire and funny has got some funn stuff. Art and such can find you some neat places to. A warning though: don't install it unless you have a few hours to spend right after since chances are you will be hitting that stumble button for some time, at least if you are like me and can end up wasting time surfing pointless pages for hours(spent 8 hours straight hitting that button after installing it:eek: ).

Micki, Stephen prefers to remain pretty anonymous... so if he ever did comment here it'd be after DNF was out and the traffic was a little more substantial. Perhaps he'd offer some mapping tips though, we'll have to see.

Yeah, I think Micki! has captured more emotion in Duke's face than anyone else out there. Duke is a tough guy to be more than a sneering/leering musclebound ego-maniac, but Micki! somehow does it without making it no longer feel true to Duke.

That turned out very good Micki. How much time overall would you say it wound up taking?
Do you free hand it all the way or start with an outline for reference and then fill it in?
For some reason I had missed your cartoon with Duke microwaving a rat in the middle of his fight with the Battlelord. Great use of those bits George had been tossing out there. ;)

Whe i draw something for the first time ever, i always have something to compare with, besides my piece of paper... the i draw out of free hand furtheron... Making it look as true to the original as i can...
Then, i make the same "thing" i drew before, and try to make it in different poses, untill i'm certain that i can draw it without any kind of comparison...
That Alien, was something like a "lazyness project"... I normally only worked on it, when i was extremely bored, and worked on it in about 5-15 minutes... Then i stopped and did something else...
I have no idea how much time it too in all, since i didn't work on it everyday... But normally, i make "quality artwork" like this in straight 2-3 hours...

Heh, thanks, that's one of my favorites atm... I am also very proud of the Dopefish comic with Duke though... Glad you like them...:)

Draw Duke falling down a building, shooting at troopers or pig-cops above him (also falling), if there's some space visible behind the building add a nuke explosion in the background (or just a regular explosion on the top of the building) (you could also add a cameo in one of the buildings windows - staring at the action with amazement - it could be Charlie, since we're on GiS). :) That would rox! :D
PS. You'll probably need a good angle for that too ;) :love:

I could do that... and i actually have a pretty good pic of that scenarion in my head...
But i'm not much for pointless stuff like that... :nipple: While the pic may look good in the end, it has no real point... I prefer to make more like a reason to what's going on when i draw stuff... like making a comic, of why he's jumping off, and what happens when he'll land...
But i guess i could make an exception... :D
